 Are you looking for childcare or preschool for the upcoming school year? If so, Northwest Children's Learning Center  has a variety of options to meet your needs. Is someone that you know looking for these services? If so pass this along!

NCLC located in Northwest South Bend is an established (45 + years) childcare provider. We are a Level 3 center that focuses on individualized, age appropriate and developmentally appropriate practices.

The staff are dedicated, caring and educated teachers that put your child first!

We provide breakfast, lunch and pm snack. The center is located in an area surrounded by trees that offers a lot of outdoor play, exposure to nature (deer visit daily) and traffic is minimal. 

Our center is part of Northwest United Methodist Church. Pastor Vickie Van Nevel works effortless to bring both NCLC and First United Methodist Church of South Bend, Indiana  together as one.

NCLC participates in CACFP (food program) and accepts vouchers for childcare assistance for qualifying families. 

Family fun and connecting with families in the community is an  important foundation for NCLC. We offer activities such as family picnics, Trunk or Treat, canned food drives (for the community we serve) and take home art projects.

We are offering new programs this school year. The "Good Neighbor Enrollment Discount" offers families a discount on full time enrollment.

The " 1/2 Day Preschool Program" offers 2 sessions of quality care for your child. This program is ideal for parents wanting opportunities for their child to play and learn, without enrolling in all day childcare.

Rabba the Community Rock Snake

 

NCLC will be helping children create Rabba the Community Rock Snake. If your child would like to get creative help them find a rock (about the size of an adult fist). They can bring it to the center to paint or they can do it at home.

A family painted rock is also a great idea! 

This is the head of Rabba the Community Rock Snake. She will be introduced to the NCLC family on Weds. July 19, 2023.

NCLC will have several openings in our PRESCHOOL Room for the upcoming school year.

Children  3- 5 years old can enroll in our program.

Our Preschool Room focuses on:

- Social/ Emotional Development

- Developing Independent Creative individuals

- Producing Responsible unique individuals

Our Preschool Room provides: 

- Group activities and play based learning

- Engaging and meaningful experiences

NCLC is a licensed center with more than 45 years experience. We are a Level 3 in the Paths to Quality System.  The staff is trained in Early Childhood and most posses degrees.

NCLC has a need

 

  NCLC needs a new range hood 

 As the director of Northwest Children's Learning Center I am asking the community, business owners, family and friends to help us replace our commercial range hood. The current range hood is older and needs to be a Type 1 Suppression system to meet state and local fire regulations.

                                                                    

This replacement will allow us to continue to prepare and serve more than 300 breakfasts, 300 lunches and 300 afternoon snacks for the children in our program. Our program provides quality childcare, preschool experiences and virtual learning for children ages 1-8 in the community.

Any donations will be greatly be appreciated by the families that we serve, the church family that supports the learning center, and the greater community of South Bend Indiana.
NCLC is located within Northwest United Methodist Church in South Bend Indiana. 

The church has several programs that would also benefit from the kitchen upgrade once it is possible to return to church safely. Currently NWUMC is holding virtual worship services on Facebook.

Dear South Bend Families,

We are Enrolling NOW for the 2020-2021 School Program. We are proud to say that we have looked at our program and have made some changes that we strongly believe will better meet the needs of the children, parents, and the community.

As the members of the community and parents still have lives filled with uncertainty and many questions regarding how and where their children are going to receive quality childcare NCLC is planning to expand the services we provide.

Northwest Children's Learning Center has realized there is a serious need for CHILDCARE for children ages 1-2. There is a need for QUALITY PRESCHOOL for children ages 3, 4 and 5. There is a need for BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL Care for working families.  There is a need for HOMESCHOOLING or other educational options for families that are considering what is available within the community.

As business owners, employers, and companies re-open and struggle to rebuild their workforce they too are faced with uncertainty. They often ask themselves if they will have the personnel to be productive and successful.

NCLC has been providing care to all members of the community for more than 40 years. We understand the needs of the people in our area and are convinced that it is time to make changes in how we serve the local families and businesses.

As the world changes we want to be part of the solution. To be part of this solution we are proudly offering a program that meets the needs of the children ages 1-8, the families within our community and businesses that work hard daily.

                                   Mon- Friday 7:00 am - 4:30pm

COVID-19 Precautions

Northwest Children's Learning Center is open. 

We have made some changes to the programs functioning style and practices. 

We are following recommendations of the CDC and Licensing. We are  following 

Gov. Holcomes recommendations  to protect all the children, the staff and the families.

The following practices are in place:

      1) Drop Off and Pick -Up occurs at the front door. Parents are permitted to walk with  

          their child to the restroom and back to the front door. No visitors, parents or other 

          individuals are permitted to walk through the building.

      2). Upon arrival parents take children to wash hands. Temperatures of all staff and 

           children are taken upon arrival. Children with temps of 100 degrees are sent home 

           immediately.

     3).  Staff are required to wear mask at all times in the building.

     4). Children are provided mask to wear at the center. Masks are washed and sanitized 

          daily.

     5). Activity rooms are assigned to allow low numbers, social distancing and consistency.

          All areas that promote large groups of being together have been closed such as the 

         chapel and kitchen.

     6). Hand washing of all staff and all children occurs frequently through out the day.

     7). Materials and surfaces are sanitized frequently through out the day- after usage.

      8). The entire center closes to families 1 hour earlier to allow for cleaning.

     NCLC is practicing social distancing, has stepped up cleaning and promoting other  

     healthy habits and will continue to do so.  We care about the health of the children in 

     our care, their families, the staff and their families and all of our community.

Sometimes the hand we are dealt is often difficult and challenging. Sometimes we need to reach out to the community, friends, family and complete strangers for help, guidance and support. The families that need that extra help often find themselves at St. Judes Children Hospital where they desperately look for care and treatment for their precious little children. 

St. Judes Children Hospital for many families is a blessing !  While they help so many children they look to the community for support. Together with B100 and many members of the community the "Quest for 1 Million Pennies" was developed.

This year the Quest for 1 Million Pennies started in February and will end February 24, 2020 as a jump start to the campaign that will help the youngest members of the community.

I believe Northwest Children's Learning Center and our families has it in their hearts to join the efforts of the community and BRING in THOSE PENNIES!!!!

Pennies can be left in the containers located outside of the learning center office beginning Thursday Feb. 6th.
